What to expect at Physiotherapy session?

Your initial visit may last between 40-60 minutes wherein the Physiotherapist will take a detailed history of your pain or injury and your daily activities and routine. How it is limiting you from living the way the life you want to. The therapist will also try to understand your goals at the end of the treatment and your expectations from the treatment. Post- assessment, a customized treatment plan will be made in agreement with you

  1. Assessment: The physiotherapist will start by assessing your physical condition and needs. This may include questions about your medical history, current symptoms, and lifestyle factors. Your physiotherapist may also conduct a physical exam to evaluate your range of motion, strength, and flexibility.

  2. Evaluate the findings to make clinical judgments based on physical tests to determine the following
    • Range of Motion (mobility and flexibility)
    • Strength
    • Ligament and Joint stability
    • Reflexes, Sensation
    • Nerve Test
    • Swelling
    • Palpation (in which specific ligaments, bones, joints, tendons are tender to touch)
  3. Provide consultation within their expertise and determine whether you need to be referred to another professional.

Who can benefit from At-Home Physiotherapy?

Besides being highly convenient, In-home physiotherapy services provide flexibility depending on your schedule. In-home physiotherapists also offer treatment at work or at another location that is convenient for you. Thus, eliminating all travel on your part allows you to save a lot of time in the process and any waiting time that can occur when appointments run late or are delayed due to unforeseen circumstances.

Many individuals are considered high-risk patients and would put themselves in an unsafe environment by receiving in-clinic physiotherapy services due to an illness or disability compromising mobility or an increased risk of infection in public places. At-home physiotherapy allows high-risk individuals to benefit from physiotherapy in the safety of their own homes.

What are the benefits of Virtual Physiotherapy sessions?

Virtual physiotherapy makes rehabilitation treatment accessible right from the comfort of your home. Assessment, treatment, and feedback are all done online, which saves you the time and effort it takes to get to a clinic. This is a huge advantage for people with mobility issues. It is also very advantageous for people living in more remote areas, where access to supplementary healthcare is limited, it offers quality treatment that might not otherwise be available.

High-risk patients can also benefit from virtual physiotherapy as it would avoid putting them in an environment that may not be safe for them as they may have compromised mobility or immunity due to illness or disability.

Does insurance cover physiotherapy?

Most of the healthcare plans do cover physiotherapy. Depending on your insurance plan, 80-100% of the service cost may be covered. If you are not sure about your insurance coverage, call us and we will find it out for you.
